Datong, Xu

Xu Datong (September 1928–June 2019) was a Chinese political scientist and jurist, a senior professor at Tianjin Normal University, a doctoral supervisor in political theory, and a recipient of the special government allowance from the State Council. He published several influential books, including Western Political Thoughts in the 20th Century and History of Western Political Thoughts.
Yang Dan, having obtained her doctoral degree of education in Jackson State University, Mississippi, is currently an associate professor at Yancheng Teachers University, China. She has published two translations: Dawn of Idols and China under the Reign of Empress Dowager. Her project Lectures on China’s Traditional Political Thoughts (English version) (Grant Number: 20WZZB004) was funded by the Chinese Fund for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
