Hayashi, Genbi
Hayashi Genbi (林元美, Genbi Monnyu, 1778 - 1861) was a Japanese 8-dan professional go player. Originally a Honinbo house pupil, he became the eleventh head of the Hayashi house (1819-1848).
Gokyo Shumyo
Gokyō Shūmyō is one of the most famous collections of go problems, containing 520 classic tesuji problems compiled and published by Hayashi Genbi in 1812. Its contents are divided into the categories of making life, capturing, ko, capturing races, connecting, oi-otoshi, cutting, and ladders.
