Vor diesem Hintergrund unterzieht Ines Soldwisch die Institution von 1979 bis 2004 einer kritischen Analyse.Im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchung stehen die Abgeordneten des EP, die sich ihre Institution innerhalb der europäischen Verträge selbst "geschaffen" haben.

The European Parliament (EP) is an influential institution, but it has usually received little attention from historians. Against this background, Ines Soldwisch carries out a critical analysis of the institution from 1979 to 2004. The focus of the study is on the members of the EP, who have ?created= their institution within the framework of the European treaties.
