Über den Autor
Chin-Peng Chu promovierte 1995 in Politikwissenschaft an der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen in Deutschland. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Taiwan lehrte er zunächst als Assistenzprofessor an der 1994 neu gegründeten Nationalen Dong Hwa Universität im Osten Taiwans, wo er zahlreiche Forschungsprojekte zu Themen im Zusammenhang mit der EU und ihren Außenbeziehungen durchführte. Dr. Chu veröffentlichte außerdem zahlreiche Artikel und Bücher über die EU auf Chinesisch, Englisch und Deutsch. Als stellvertretender Magistrat der Bezirksregierung Hualien von 2003 bis 2008 und als Minister für Forschung und Entwicklung im Exekutiv-Yuan/Kabinett in Taiwan von 2009 bis 2012 koordinierte und förderte Dr. Chu akademische Austauschprogramme zwischen der Dong Hwa Universität und den Universitäten in der EU. Dr. Chu erhielt 2015 den Jean-Monnet-Lehrstuhl und wurde 2016 zum Vizepräsidenten der Nationalen Dong-Hwa-Universität ernannt.
Sang-Chul Park ist derzeit ordentlicher Professor an der Graduate School of Knowledge-based Technology and Energy, Korea Polytechnic University. Er war Adjunct Professor am Center for Science-based Entrepreneurship, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), und Gastprofessor an der Seoul National University, Südkorea. Außerdem war er Privatdozent an der Justus-Liebig-Universität in Gießen, Deutschland, und Gastprofessor an der Universität Göteborg, Schweden. Von 2001 bis 2003 war er außerordentlicher Professor an der Universität Göteborg, Schweden, und von 2003 bis 2006 außerordentlicher Professor an der Universität Okayama, Japan. Sein Forschungsinteresse gilt der Industriepolitik und der regionalen Entwicklung sowie Studien zu Innovationssystemen und insbesondere zu Wissenschaftsparks und innovativen Clustern.
