The model of the male breadwinner seems to lose relevance in the course of current transformations in the world of work. Nevertheless, men's reductions in working hours are still to be understood as a non-normative transition in male life courses. Drawing on biographical interviews and discourse documents, this qualitative study is dedicated to the question how men in Germany construct masculinity in the context of reducing working hours.
