He earned his STL in 1992 at the Weston School, in Boston, and in 1997, received his STD from the International Marian Research Institute (IMRI) in Dayton with his work Mary: Virgin Mother in the Thought of the Cappadocian Fathers. He is currently Professor of Theology at IMRI.
