This book addresses such questions, systematically analyzing many sources for the first time.

Zum Jahreswechsel 1932/33 erschien das Leipziger Jüdisches Jahr- und Adressbuch für 1933 – das erste seiner Art. Es blieb das einzige. Vier Wochen vor der Ernennung Hitlers zum Reichskanzler gewährte es am Vorabend der nationalsozialistischen Katastrophe einen Blick auf die jüdische Einwohnerschaft.
