Eva / Schlechter Wolf
Max Slevogt (1868-1932), German Impressionist. Along with his paintings, in which he primarily captured the atmosphere and light in soft brushstrokes, he was one of the most important illustrators of his time.
Bruno Cassirer (1872-1941), Berlin's most significant publisher and the main promoter of Impressionism. He was the founder of the magazine “Kunst und Künstler”, which was one of the central art magazines in Germany.
Eva Wolf is a research assistant at the Saarlandmuseum Saarbrücken and is responsible for provenance research. In 2018, she has compiled an edition of Max Slevogt's letters from the museum's collection.
Armin Schlechter, Head of the Collections Department at the State Library in Speyer (LBZ). He is in charge of Max Slevogt's correspondence there and has already published various articles on it.

Der Künstler Max Slevogt und der Berliner Verleger Bruno Cassirer führten über viele Jahre einen intensiven brieflichen Austausch. In der erhaltenen ca. 350 Schriftstücke umfassenden Korrespondenz spiegeln sich nicht nur die langjährige Geschäftsfreundschaft und der Wandel in der künstlerischen Auffassung Slevogts.
