Frances Gray explores a number of high-profile cases from the Whitechapel Murders of 1888 to the Children's Home scandals of the present day, in which women have featured as victims, perpetrators or investigators. The author tracks the representation of women through detective stories, plays and novels.

Über den Autor
FRANCES GRAY is Senior Lecturer in English Literature and Drama at the University of Sheffield. She has lectured at Allegheny College, Pennsylvania, and at the University of Lodz. Her previous books include John Arden, Noel Coward and Women and Laughter. She is also a playwright for both the stage and radio and holds two Radio Times Awards.
