The National Institute for Global Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, is one of the top 25 pilot think-tanks firstly established by the end of 2015 by the Chinese government, professionally engaging in international studies covering China’s Global Strategy, the Belt and Road Initiative and China’s peripheral security. Prof. CAI Fang, Vice President of CASS, is the Chairman of Board of Directors of NIGS, CASS. Wang Linggui acts as Chief Expert, Executive Vice Chairman of Board of Directors and Secretary General of NIGS, CASS.
The Research Institute of China Development Bank was established in April 2009. It adheres to the long-term development strategy of serving the country with two product lines of think tank’s "soft power" and financing’s "hard power" and carries out forward-looking, strategic and independent research, mainly focusing on development finance practice and theory, macro-research, the Belt and Road Initiative, investing in Africa think-tank alliance, global strategy, regional economy, industrial economy and other forward-looking, strategic, independent research. In September 2017, approved by the central leaders, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences officially issued a document specifying that Research Institute of China Development Bank was selected into the list of national high-end think-tanks for cultivation which is the only one among financial enterprises.
