Christiana Albertina

The Christiana Albertina was founded in 1966 as Kiel University's journal and has since been an important medium for disseminating and documenting the history, developments and achievements of CAU both internally and externally. With issue 84, the journal begins a new launch as an open access journal. From now on, Christiana Albertina will be published annually as a university-wide showcase for research projects and discussion, as well as a reporting organ for academic appointments and honors. Issue 84 contains thematically wide-ranging papers on Georges Rickey's artwork Two Lines Up - Excentric, Friedrich Esmarch's Clinical Picture Collection, protein biosynthesis in plant mitochondria, new methods of genome editing in plant breeding, the history and present of the theological study house ›Kieler Kloster‹, current children's literature on climate change, the history of Kiel Art Gallery, the ›Zentrum für Osteuropa-Studien‹ (Center for Eastern European Studies) and the concept of freedom from a philosophical perspective.
