High and Mighty

Monsters do exist. Real monsters aren’t always obvious.
Not all monsters resemble the stereotypical supernatural, mythical beast, look like the devil, or have colossus abnormalities.
These monsters are far more predictable than childhood fairy tales and Hollywood movies that are simply derived from someone’s imagination, which helps brings a story to life.
The most dangerous monsters are the ones we innocently pass by every day in the streets, and perhaps even talk to.
These monsters can form part of our daily routine. They could be a complete stranger on public transport, work in an office, a school, or even be a customer in a local bar. They could be a relative, distant or close, someone we eat meals with, or spend considerable time with.
These are the monsters who are careful about how they reveal themselves, and how they integrate into our world and our lives. We don’t always know they’re monsters until it’s too late.

A Propagation of Lies is the thrilling sequel to High and Mighty.
Life galloped me down a different path after I was taken from High and Mighty.
This new path was not one of my own choosing, not my path to live. It took me downwards, into a deep, dark place, where the very people who were supposed to love me, to show me kindness and guide me, were the ones who kept me buried, suffocated and alone.
I had to fight to find my own path, and learned many hard lessons along the way. There was no way of knowing that my journey of growth would be so uncomfortable, so painful, and no matter how scared I was, or how dark and dangerous my life became, I knew I had to keep on going.
Despite how desperate my life became, I knew that in order to grow, I had to keep moving, and to keep going forward if I wanted to survive.

A desperate escape from what should have been home. Aged just eighteen, I thought of myself as an adult, grown up. I had to run, put an end to all the years of abuse and neglect I'd suffered at the hands of others.

But I was wrong.  It didn't matter how far I ran, what distance I put between myself and the people who'd hurt me.  I had naively thought all the emotional baggage would be left behind with all the belongings I wasn't able to take with me.

I thought my own attempts at love would help to heal my heart and past traumas.  I wanted nothing more than to feel good enough.  To be loved, and to be able to give love in return.

A new house that was supposed to be a home. A place of safety, a much-needed lifeline, and four solid walls that became my own prison.

A misjudgement and a realisation that in order to feel safe, it didn’t only mean locking the doors to the outside world to fnd security and freedom. First,the doors to my own mind must also be unlocked. The past would have to be confronted and the monsters faced head-on if there was ever going to be a chance my house could be called home.

Unlocking doors when you don’t have access to the right keys is impossible to manage alone.
But who can really be trusted to help?

If there is any chance at all, who will be the one to help you to remember there is a tomorrow worth fghting for?
