This book deals with the interdependencies regarding economic crises, administrative reforms and fiscal consolidation in political-administrative systems.
The research within this book shows that economic crises are the main factor for budget problems of states and local governments. But due to this effect, economic crises are also a powerful driver for the development and implementation of administrative reforms. The research indicates that there are, from a fiscal point of view, two main types of administrative reforms: Management strategies and Weberian strategies. These types of administrative reforms are investigated in comprehensive case studies.
