Leadership OS
Based on years of original research, this book controversially counters almost every existing leadership model and approach.
It shows how as leaders rise to senior levels, their roles become less about doing things that directly drive results and more about directing and supporting others to achieve objectives. Using case studies and research insights the authors reveal how leadership success is thus not so much about having the right core capabilities, but about creating the right environment.
Using the analogy of a smartphone operating system (OS), the book presents a new way of thinking about leadership. The authors provide a clear and practical framework to follow and show how your leadership OS becomes the impact you have, the imprint you make and the foundation of your legacy as a leader.
After reading it, you will learn:
· How to diagnose the impact you have as a leader and understand the OS you create
· How famous business and societal leaders have created effective – and sometimes ineffective – OSs
· How to optimise your OS to produce the best results
· How to get people working together effectively, and be a high-performing leader
Providing you with practical and easy to follow advice, this book will show you how leadership success is not about having the core capabilities, but about creating the right operating systems for your organisation.

Informational Entrepreneurship in a World with Limited Insight
This book organizes entrepreneurship theory in a way that constitutes a new body of knowledge, which is Informational Entrepreneurship. It can serve as a basis for teaching entrepreneurship and reducing performance uncertainty. Although entrepreneurship is not entirely about information, information determines how it can be systematically understood while depending less on luck. It also offers the only known, experimentally tested approach that incorporates decision support tools. Other known approaches rely on exposition for validation; whereas, Informational Entrepreneurship uses two-sample experiments that controlled for other explanations as well as experimenter bias. It will appeal to those studying and teaching entrepreneurship who are looking for a prescriptive approach, rather than a descriptive approach.

Value Creation for Owners and Directors
This book deals with a much understudied and poorly understood aspect of business: the role of owners and boards in value creation. While there is abundant guidance on value creation for publicly listed firms and their managers, the role played by owners, and their corporate directors, in value creation and governance has been overlooked. This book aims to fill that gap.
• The first part deals with the mission, and the values and rules pertaining to the governance of the business. These structural elements are fundamental for owners to get right as they pave the way to value creation, or its opposite. They refer to “WHAT” owners have to do. Another element is the formation of the three boards that govern owner-led firms: the owners board, the board of directors, and the management board.
• The second part addresses the relational elements that owners must master to effectively manage the social and emotionaldynamics in their enterprise. It deals with the “HOW” of ownership, namely the leadership process that lies at the heart of board work. This process ensures alignment across the three boards and also with stakeholders that is vital to realizing owners’ value creating aims.
• Thirdly, the book explores the histories, defining experiences, and talents that define owners and shape their enterprise. It concerns the “WHOM,” namely the identities of owners. It explores the diversity of ownership styles and identifies the critical personal transitions owners must make in their leadership quest.
This book offers a practical guide for business aiming for value creation. It also should be of interest to directors and executives of all firms with identifiable ownership, such as entrepreneurial, family, state-owned and private equity firms.

Maritime Decarbonization
This volume analyses maritime decarbonization from various perspectives. It contains unique approaches and tools in four areas: scenarios, value chains, enablers, and partnerships.
Decarbonization has become a very important focus in the maritime industry. Anyone that delves into the topic quickly appreciates its breadth and complexity. Minimizing greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions in maritime practices at large and doing it swiftly is far from simple. The Paris 2015 climate goals and the IMO ambitions may be the industry’s guiding lights. But is this enough? Probably not. At the managerial level a paradigm shift is needed: from a fixed mindset that is calling for compensation to a growth mindset that seeks to capture the benefits of decarbonization. This will require a structured approach in the form of practical frameworks and clear recommendations. In this book 75 scholars and industry and subject matter experts have joined forces to explore different scenarios, value chain designs, decarbonization enablers, and partnership models to develop frameworks and recommendations around how to effectively work and make progress. The books offers a valuable mix of theory, practical tools, and real-life cases.

Whistleblowing Policy and Practice, Volume I
Organizations are increasingly under pressure from policymakers to adopt procedures to handle disclosures in a more transparent and effective way, yet, we continue to see whistleblowers speak up and suffer for doing so. Why does this happen? This two-volume work examines the different perspectives on who is responsible for receiving and acting on whistleblowing disclosures, implementing processes and procedures, and even deciding who can be defined as a whistleblower, These debates are contingent on underlying ideas for how whistleblowing should be handled and what channel is most appropriate, where debates also persist.
While there is widespread agreement that whistleblowing is a good thing (a position we assume in this book) the purpose of this book is to draw out the debates around the who and the how, two of the important questions for business to consider when dealing with whistleblowing disclosures. This first volume explores whistleblowing from within the organization, exploring the internal organizational systems that can support or thwart whistleblowing attempts. It will be of great importance to academics and researchers of business ethics, HRM, corporate governance, leadership, strategy and corporate law.
