Children come into the world as fascinating learning creatures, with an astounding rate of learning during the initial years of life. At school, however, many children then lose their enthusiasm for learning and their confidence in their own success, and become caught up in learning difficulties. This book aims to sensitize adults to ways of perceiving learning processes in children. Adults need to reflect on their own behaviour during everyday learning processes (via many ?aha experiences=), show more understanding and accompany children more effectively in their learning. The focus is on learning the basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic. The book contains many practical tips on how to build on these basic skills in order to support children and give them more confidence.
