Bauten – Bilder – Geschichten
What defines an art-historical approach to architectural history? What aims does it pursue, and what insights can it offer? This festschrift, celebrating the 65th birthday of Christian Freigang, gathers fifteen contributions from the honoree's colleagues, each exploring these questions through engagement with specific buildings, images, and stories spanning from the Middle Ages to the present day: from the ancient Via Appia to new museum constructions, from the Sainte-Chapelle to the Eiffel Tower, and from High Gothic to the history of heritage conservation.
