The Ghost
72 Hours Until a New World Order
An anonymous billionaire gives the world an ultimatum. Twenty-three governments must expose their hidden wealth, establish independent courts, guarantee education and end systemic corruption. The deadline: 72 hours. The threat: a nuclear bomb.
The international intelligence community knows the blackmailer by only one name: the Ghost.
To some, he is a terrorist. To others, he is a modern-day Robin Hood finally holding untouchable rulers accountable. But when Austrian nuclear forensic scientist Lena Hartmann examines the technical documents attached to the ultimatum, she recognises a signature that should not exist. The weapon appears to come from a stockpile officially dismantled years ago—a stockpile Lena herself once proved had never been completely destroyed.
Her report was buried. Her career was ruined.
Now the missing weapons have returned.
Only hours after Lena reports her discovery, classified passages from her old investigation are released to the public—and the evidence begins to point directly at her. Hunted by the very agencies she tried to warn, Lena joins forces with investigative journalist Amina Okafor, Israeli intelligence officer Eitan Barak and Iranian radiochemist Leila Farzan.
Then a nuclear device detonates in the Middle East.
As Israel and Iran move towards catastrophic retaliation, a second countdown begins in Vienna, where the world’s most powerful leaders are gathering for an emergency summit. They do not know that the real enemy is already inside their security apparatus—or that another weapon may be hidden beneath the city.
To prevent a global war, Lena must uncover who betrayed the Ghost, locate the final bomb and decide whether she can trust a man who tried to force the world to become better through terror.
The Ghost: 72 Hours Until a New World Order is an international political and conspiracy thriller about corruption, nuclear terror and the power of verified truth.
