In their photographic stories, Lydia Bergida and Marco Limberg portray some of the last living “Righteous Among the Nations”. The people honored by the Yad Vashem memorial who saved Jews persecuted under National Socialism are contemporary witnesses who stand for humanity and civil courage. They remind us to take responsibility for the here and now.
With this homage to the “silent heroes”, the photographers pay tribute to the “righteous” and give them a voice to draw attention to the threats to democracies, hatred, wars, anti-Semitism and other forms of misanthropy worldwide.
Lydia Bergida and Marco Limberg want to convey the humanity and values of these people who have shown and lived up to their convictions and who can serve as role models for present and future generations.
